March 2010 Monthly Networking Event: Understanding Private Cloud Computing Networks and the Opportunities in the DFW Metroplex Today Please join NTGTS for its Monthly Program on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at the University of Dallas, Frisco Campus, 7460 Warren Parkway, Frisco, TX from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Central. The program's featured speaker is David Hairston, Sales Founder, CloudPoint who will provide an overview of private cloud computing networks. Cloud computing has arguably become one of the hottest topics in the communications industry. Rather than investing thousands or even millions of dollars in upgrading data centers and hiring more staff, enterprises are contracting with a companies like Amazon, Google, and AT&T to provide “pay as you go” Cloud Computing services. With CloudComputing services, we’re seeing three main business models rise to the surface as the most popular and most viable: IaaS Infrastructure as a Service PaaS Platform as a Service SaaS Software as a Service So while the infrastructure (IaaS) is really the data center you’re renting, the platform is considered the tools (PaaS) and Software (SaaS) are essentially the rented applications. This event will explore the latest trends and challenges in the world of Cloud Computing in the Metroplex area. Among other things, it will give industry leaders and professional’s unique and evolving ideas and best practices, as well as an opportunity to network with a leading expert within the Cloud Computing industry. It's also an ideal opportunity for corporate leaders to glean information on the latest innovations in Cloud Computing, generate new contacts and develop ideas on how to capitalize on what's estimated to eventually become a $100 billion dollar market. Mr. Hairston has had a successful career in the Scientific Computing, Telecom and Datacenters space. He has worked with the visualization division of Silicon Graphics before moving to AT&T where he began his telecom career. Over the past ten years, David has helped his customers navigate numerous changes in their services by adroitly using carrier neutral datacenters to replace the old Central Office’s of the old Bell System. Using Data Centers to house infrastructure, has significantly increased his customer’s capability, while at the same time reducing service costs. David’s career began after graduating from Texas A&M University with a BBA. He is a fifth generation Texan and a lifelong Dallasite where he lives with his wife and daughter.
