Doug joined the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) in May 2006 as Executive Vice President of Government Relations.

From 1993-1997, he was Director of Legislative Affairs for the Competitive Telecommunications Association (CompTel), where he helped draft and codify key elements of the Telecommunications Act of 1996.

From 1991-1993, Doug was Vice President of Government Relations for the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA).

In the public sector, Doug was Senior Legislative Aide to Rep. Tom Bliley (R-VA), former Chairman of the U.S. House Committee on Energy & Commerce.  His work on Capitol Hill focused primarily on communications policy matters.  In the Reagan Administration, he also served at the Commerce Department’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) under the tenure of former FCC Chairman Alfred C. Sikes.  Doug began his career working in broadcasting at radio station WMAL-AM and as a stringer for ABC Radio.
