First Horizon Don McMillan has more than twenty-nine years of management and technical expertise in the Information Technology and Telecommunications industry. Mr. McMillian has performed various roles and responsibilities which includes general management, telecommunications management, technology consulting, and entrepreneurial experience with several major corporations, including First Horizon National Corporation, Paradigm Technologies, Inc, Cingular (formally Southwestern Bell Mobile Systems), and IBM.
Most Recently, Mr. McMillian serves as Vice President of Information Technology Risk Management group responsible for developing the application security discipline for First Horizon National Corporation. At First Horizon, Mr. McMillian leads the creation of an application security framework to develop processes and procedures which focuses on the security of web-based or Internet facing applications. AT First Horizon, Mr. McMillian also led the Enterprise Infrastructure Architecture groups which designed enterprise-wide Local Area Network, Wide Area Network (WAN) and Telecommunications infrastructure solutions for the corporation. Prior to his tenor at First Horizon, Mr. McMillian founded Paradigm Technologies, Inc. and became the president where he led a management consult practice that focused on building / expanding call centers for major financial institutions. Mr. McMillian leveraged his vast management and technology expertise to assist companies in designing, selecting, and implementing state of the art call center technology including telecommunications infrastructure to support their business objectives. Prior to the founding of Paradigm Technologies, Mr. McMillian held numerous management and engineering positions at Southwestern Bell Mobile Systems and IBM. Mr. McMillian is a standing member of the National Association for Black Telecommunications Professionals, Black Data Processing Association, Dallas Chapter of Urban League, and the North Texas Global Telecommunications Society. Mr. McMillian attended Prairie View A&M University and Amberton University where he focused on architecture engineering and management disciplines. Mr. McMillian also completed Control Data Institute where he received valuable training in the area of computer engineering. Other educational accomplishments includes IBM Telecommunications Management training, Dale Carnegie training, IBM management development training, University of Texas at Austin’s Minority Business Advancement Program, and Minority Business Executive Program at Tuck School of Business Executive Education Group. |
