IPTV Within the Triple Play On Thursday, October 5, 2006 at The Richardson Hotel in Richardson, TX, NTGTS held its monthly networking event featuring Brian White, Founder of Converged Network Solutions (CNS). White discussed "Illustrating the Cost Benefit Analysis of IPTV within the Triple Play." The program was excellent and provided a current update on IPTV developments. VOIP IN THE U.S. AND EUROPE On Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at the offices of Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP in Washington, D.C., CTC held its Evening Digital Domain Program focused on VoIP Developments in the U.S. and Europe. The keynote speaker was Steve Rich, Telecommunications Practice Group of Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP. Rich discussed "Recent Developments in VoIP Regulations at the U.S. FCC and at the European Union Levels." The program was well received and garnered excellent feedback and discussion. CORPORATE WELLNESS SEMINAR On October 4, 2006 in Richardson, TX, to help companies gain control over exploding healthcare costs, Plasma Training organized this unique half-day seminar featuring experts on employee wellness programs. As October is the national lung health month, the event also featured a special section on respiratory health and "conscious breathing" for stress management. Hari Subramanian of the NTGTS Program Task Force spoke on the topic of "The Power of Breathing". Several HR planners, executives and other professionals with interest in wellness attended the event. The proceeds from this event benefited The Samaritan Inn, McKinney and Buckner Children and Family Services, Dallas. NOVEMBER 2 PROGRAM ON INTERNET AND TECHNOLOGY LEGAL ISSUES Please join the North Texas Global Telecommunications Society (NTGTS) for its November Monthly Networking Event taking place on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at The Richardson Hotel, 701 East Campbell Road, Richardson, TX. The program will run from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CST. NTGTS is pleased to host and welcome Mr. Peter S. Vogel, Co-Chair of the Internet and Computer Technology Practice Group at Gardere Wynne Sewell, LLP. Vogel will discuss "Internet and Technology Legal Issues." Laws around the world are changing since the Internet is altering social behavior. This presentation will include privacy laws in the U.S. and around the world, electronic contracting issues relating to digital signatures (eSign) and the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA), blogs, wikis, and email issues, including SPAM, Phishing, ID Theft, and Spyware. Vogel has been involved with the computer industry since 1967. Vogel is Co-Chair of the firm's Internet and Computer Technology Practice Group and provides advice on business issues relating to electronic technology and the Internet, including Internet security, ERP implementation, software patents, copyrights, trade secret protection, and outsourcing. Vogel is also an Adjunct Professor in the Law of eCommerce at the SMU School of Law, Dallas, TX. NOVEMBER 28 NORTH DALLAS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ANNUAL TELECOM CONFERENCE On November 28, 2006, NTGTS will again serve as a co-sponsor of the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce's (NDCC) Annual Telecommunications 2006 Telecom Conference. The conference will take place at the InterContinental Hotel in Dallas, Texas, from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. This half-day conference is designed to provide insight on what decision makers are saying about the industry today and market trends; what strategies are shaping the future of telecom; and what role will regulators continue to play in this deregulated industry. As a NTGTS/CTC member, you can register for this conference at the Chamber member rate of $35.00 per person before and after the registration deadline.
