PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Dear Members: I hope you are enjoying your summer vacations. It has breezed by so quickly and can you believe we are almost into fall. I also hope you have been able to catch a glimpse of some of the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympic Games. Earlier this summer, in June, we held a networking event and happy hour at the Richardson Hotel. In July, we had a very well received and interesting panel discussion program on IPTV services and applications that featured a special presentation from Alcatel-Lucent. From an industry perspective, it has been a very busy summer full of key developments at the state, Federal and international levels. We have been busy planning events for the remainder of 2008. Please be on the look out for upcoming notices and other announcements. I would encourage you to look at the Events Calendar section of this edition for NTGTS and other industry events that may be of interest. If you are interested in serving in the organization’s leadership, speaking at a future program or sponsoring an event, please contact us with your interests and we will get in touch with you. I look forward to sharing all of our upcoming events with you. Jeremy L. Azif

CALL FOR AUDIO CONFERENCING/WEBINAR SPONSORS
Audio Conferencing - The Leadership of NTGTS has discussed the possibility of providing an option for members to participate in meetings and programs remotely via a conference call bridge. At this time we are offering an opportunity for interested individuals or corporations to sponsor a new call bridge or donate a Conference Call Bridge number that may already exist within the respective company for the use of NTGTS Monthly meetings. Any interested party that would like to sponsor the Conference Bridge should contact Jeremy Azif at president@ntgts.org. Webinar Hosting - The Leadership of NTGTS has also considered hosting a Webinar twice a year on topics of community interest. The Webinar can be via Webex or other tools currently available. Any interested party that would like to sponsor either a single or series of Webinars, including donating a currently owned license to Webex or other such Tools should contact Jeremy Azif at president@ntgts.org. SEPTEMBER 2008 PROGRAM Please join NTGTS for its Monthly Program on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at The University of Dallas, Frisco Campus, 7460 Warren Parkway, Frisco, TX. The program will run from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Central. NTGTS is pleased to host a special joint presentation on, “Entering the Era of Everything Over Broadband” by Stanley L. Kroder, Ph.D., Associate Dean, Graduate School of Management, University of Dallas, and Robert A. Mercer, Ph.D., President, Broadview Consulting.
Today’s “triple play” of voice, Internet, and video services is rapidly becoming just one aspect of the growing reality of Everything Over Broadband (EoB)-that is, the provision of services of every kind over a ubiquitous IP-based broadband network. In the EoB space, there is an amalgam of transport facilities, customer premises equipment and networking, applications software, and content that enable not only the existing triple play services, but also a dazzling array of potential new services. Join the presenters as they provide a technology and business perspective on the players and their strategies, status, and prospects in each component of the EoB space, and survey the exciting new services that are now appearing.
Please register by Tuesday, September 16 via the NTGTS/CTC website at www.ntgts.org/zenCart/index.php. Members are $5 and $10 for Non-Members.
