The program will run from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Central. The program's featured speaker is John Alexander, Director - IPCBU Architecture, Cisco Systems, Inc. This is the first NTGTS event to be held at UTD.
In this presentation, Mr. Alexander will talk about Cisco’s work around Unified Communications and Cisco thinks Unified Communications is one of the most important productivity tools that businesses can embrace today. He will discuss some specifics about the Cisco solution focused on helping its customers not only with their Unified Communications challenges, but also to help build a culture of collaboration. The talk will also emphasize that the opportunity is today for customers to move now to embrace Unified Communications, to add context with Video and to connect with business applications through Web 2.0 applications so that people can close the productivity gap.
John Alexander, part of the original Selsius development team acquired by Cisco Systems in November, 1998, is currently director of IPCBU architecture. His team primarily focuses on new Unified Communications innovations beyond the two-year horizon. He has more than 35 years of experience in software development, including over 25 years of management experience. His many years of experience are primarily in voice communications and include voice switching, ADCs, voice messaging, call centers, voice over IP, and Unified Communications. He holds several patents related to the Cisco Unified Communications Manager. John has a BS in Physics and a BA in Math from the University of Texas, Austin, Texas and an MBA in Business Management from the University of Dallas. John is co-author of CallManager Fundamentals (2001), 2nd Edition (Sept 2005, ISBN 1-58705-192-3).
