PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Dear Members,

Happy Belated New Year!   I hope you have been doing very well and your year has been off to a terrific start!  As you already know, the holiday season is a time to reflect and take a break and the organization did just that.  We are now back and are feeling refreshed.  The organization’s leadership recently met to discuss and work on the 2011 Strategic Plan.  We also have been diligently working on our 2011 Events Calendar to bring you quality programming.

We also recently have brought several senior industry executives on to our leadership team.  We want to welcome Edward B.T. Sun, Chairman and CEO of Sun Global LLC, based in Honolulu, Hawaii, and Tom Spackman, CEO, XC Networks, based in Dallas, Texas to our Advisory Board.   Please be on the lookout for separate press releases related to Edward and Tom’s appointments to our Advisory Board.   We are always seeking charismatic, motivated, and committed industry professionals to help take the organization to the next level.  If you are interested in supporting the team, please contact president@ntgts.org by March 10.

The organization also recently launched its women’s special interest group.  The DC Chapter, CTC, is holding a Networking Reception on March 28 at the Fairmont Hotel to celebrate the launch of this group.  In addition, the group recently formed a LinkedIn Group.  Besides this LinkedIn Group, we also have a general NTGTS/CTC group on LinkedIn.  I encourage you to join these two groups and benefit from the discussions and other activities that they offer.  Our LinkedIn Groups can be found at http://www.linkedin.com/groups?mostPopular=&gid=887307 and http://www.linkedin.com/groups?mostPopular=&gid=3797069.

I also want to welcome our new intern, Pankaj Sachdeva, who is currently studying at Southern Methodist University (SMU), Cox School of Business, pursuing his MBA, to our Internship Program.  Pankaj will be supporting the organization until the end of May 2011.  We look forward to his contributions.

As you can see, we continue to stay busy.  I look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at our upcoming events.

My very best,Jeremy L. Azif
