DC and Texas Telecommunications Society Appoints Two New Advisory Board Members

 

Thomas J. Spackman, Founder, Chairman and CEO of XC Networks and Edward B.T. Sun, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Sun Global, LLC to Serve As Advisors 

Washington, D.C. (March 7, 2011) - The North Texas Global Telecommunications Society (NTGTS) and Communications and Technology Connections (CTC), a Texas and Washington, DC-based telecommunications and technology professional group is pleased to announce new appointments to its Leadership.  Thomas J. Spackman, Founder, Chairman and CEO of XC Networks, an international telecommunications firm and Edward B.T. Sun, CEO of Sun Global, LLC have joined the Society's Advisory Board.   These positions are effective immediately.

"We are honored that Thomas Spackman and Edward Sun have agreed to serve as Advisors to NTGTS/CTC.   Thomas has a long history of entrepreneurial ventures as an investor, lawyer, and chief executive.  Edward has over 30 years of executive and corporate management experience in telecommunications and technology.  Thomas and Edward are industry leaders and visionaries", said Jeremy Azif, the President and co-founder of NTGTS/CTC.  

In his current role leading XC Networks, Thomas interacts extensively with the federal and state communications regulators in both the United States and Mexico.  Thomas received his Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University School of Law and is a graduate of DePauw University, where he was a Management Fellow.  

As Chairman and CEO of Sun Global, LLC based in Honolulu, Hawaii, Edward helped establish Hewlett-Packard's instrumentation and Computer Group in Hawaii.  He held the top positions for computer, network integration, biotechnology and telecommunications companies in the Pacific.  As part of the Data Communications Research and Development Team for GTE in the Pacific, Edward was involved in the 1981 introduction of early Packet Switch Services in the US.  Related technology was later applied in the launch of the credit card industry at VeriFone Inc. and he is now launching specialized Fiber Technologies used in support of HD IPTV over mobile and ADSL platforms.Edward has dual engineering degrees from the University of Hawaii in Biomedical Instrumentation and Electronics and has a background in business from Chaminade University.   He has served as Executive Director of IEEE in Hawaii and has been active on the Governor's Council for High Technology Development in Hawaii.  He has been a University of Hawaii Board Member for the Hawaii Council for Engineering Societies and is a member of the Technology Trade Association, Hawaii Venture Capital Association, and General Contractors Association.  He works on several Boards and contributes to Community and Masonic Groups.

The Society has a membership of more than 200 executives representing all aspects of the telecommunications and high tech sectors.
