Tom Tregoning is a telecommunications consultant providing technical
and management services to a broad range of clients from startups to
regional operating companies. He has been responsible for the
development of new telecommunications businesses including new
opportunity identification, all aspects of business planning and
analysis, technology selection and application, and the development of
strategic partnerships. These engagements have been with operators
(MCI, AT&T and others) and equipment manufacturers (Nortel,
Rockwell, DSC and others). He serves as advisor to operational
management and to the boards of firms.
Tom was a co-founder of IP Communications developing the business plan
and model. As vice president of engineering, staffed engineering and
the support groups and built a broadband data network consisting of 413
collocations. Assumed CFO position, secured $182m in financing and
later raised an additional $30m in equity and restructured the debt
facility.
From 1986 to 1990 Tom was responsible for the corporate strategic plans
and operating plans as Director of Long Range Planning for Ericsson
North America. The divisions and products involved included Central
Office Switching, Network Systems, Cellular Systems, PBXs, Personal
Computers, Fiber Optic Cables and Systems, and Wire and Cable.
Tom served as president of Texarkana Wire & Cable, Inc., vice
president of manufacturing and engineering at VMX, Inc., and as vice
president of operations at Sunrise Systems, Inc
Tom started his professional career with 15 years at Xerox Corporation
where he held a variety of positions in sales, marketing engineering
and manufacturing.
