University of Dallas Graduate School of Management
Dr. Nugent is the Director of the Center of Information Assurance and
Assistant Professor, University of Dallas Graduate School of
Management. He concurrently serves as CEO of the Hilliard Consulting
Group, Inc.
Dr. Nugent teaches graduate and executive education courses in
telecommunications and strategy as well as information assurance.
Previously, he served as president and a board of director member of a
number of AT&T subsidiaries. There he led in the design and
development of over 100 products ranging from specialized integrated
circuits to switches to national secure communication infrastructure
systems operating in over 90 countries. John was awarded the Defense
Electronics "10 Rising Stars" award in July 1989 as well as the Diplome
de Citoyen D'Honneur, Republic of France in June1988 for some of his
efforts there, and the University of Dallas' Presidential Haggar Award
in 2002.
Dr. Nugent received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University
in New York, a Masters in Accounting from Southeastern University in
Washington, D.C., and a Doctorate in Business Administration from
Business School Lausanne, Switzerland. Dr. Nugent is a licensed CPA in
a number of jurisdictions and is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
